HISTORY

The English word history comes from the Greek word historeo meaning "to ascertain by inquiry and examination". It came into English vernacular around the late 14th century with the meaning "relation of incidents" which is a story. Its present meaning "record of past events" arose in the late 15th century.

Wow! What freedom to change definitions.

Actually, there is no word for "history" in the classical Hebrew writings. When dealing with past events, the scriptures deal with individuals and their families. Upon so, the Hebrew words toldoth meaning "generations/geneaology", from the root yalad meaning "give birth; boy; child; product", and yachas meaning "relate to lineage or family", are used.

Why are the classical Hebrew writings on point with this issue? Because events are not separate from the individuals causing them!

Ecc. 1:9-11 "That which has been is what will be, that which is done is what will be done, and there is nothing entirely new under the sun."

Ecc. 2:12 " ... Because what can the man do who will come after the king? Only all that is in relationship to what he has already done."

Ecc. 3:15 "What is has already been, and what is to be has already been; and the Powers, He will seek all relating to what is being pursued (in one's heart)."

Simply put, we are a generation that has inherited the ideology, cultures, and consequences of past individuals, and or families ruling nations and kingdoms that either obeyed, or despised the classical Hebrew writings (scriptures). (Prov. 13:13)

Do your research, inquire, examine facts, check out records of past events, and see which kingdoms have come and gone having turned their backs on these instructions.

These classical Hebrew writings have been compiled into the most popular book known to man. It is by far the number one best seller every year. It is man's original history! It is the only book extant from circa 1450 B.C. that records what man is, who man is, and why man is. It includes instructions for the success in fulfilling his purpose by which he exists. And they also direct man how to get back to his purpose should he fall away.

Let us allow these writings to be our examples upon whom the end of the ages have come, because they were written for our learning. And therein assures that there is no dilemma facing man that cannot be conquered.
